Departure at 10.00 a.m. for Cerro Rico. We will ascend the mountain by 4x4 WD Land Cruiser. To visit Cerro Rico, or the Silver Mountain, is an unforgettable experience. No one is certain how much silver has been extracted from Cerro Rico, over its four and a half centuries of production, but a popular boast was that the Spanish could have build a bridge of silver across to Spain and could have had some silver left to carry across on it. From the top of Cerro Rico we can appreciate spectacular views across Potosí city, the Cordillera Real, the altiplano and the eastern mountain ranges.
