One of the most marvels region of Bolivia:: Ever more known to the World, this sea of salt, the largest in the world, stronghold of epochs inmemorial when the sea covered the earth, is an unmatchable natural attraction valued for its beauty and geological richness. The route passes into some spectacular formations of red rock. At the intersection, the right fork climbs towards the village of Palmin and the left crosses the Río San Rafael, eventually becoming lost in a region of canyons. In this place we may see condors and it is a particularly beautiful route. The Quebrada de Palmira, the right fork of the road, is comically known as the Valle de los Machos (Valley of Males), or less genteelly as Valle de los Pennes (Valley of Penises). These names stem from the numerous phallic pedestal formations that line it. We will visit in Potosí the Cooperative Private Mines, the Mint House Museum (Casa de la Moneda) also hot springs Tarapaya Lagoon. |

| Day 1 :: La Paz/ Challapata | |
Departure
from La Paz city (3600 msnm) by 4x4 WD throught different plateau towns
and also Oruro city, then we will continue until Challapata. Night in
basic lodge. |

| Day 2 :: Challapata/ Jirira | |
Departure
from Challapata to Jirira on the way we visit the great views of Poopo
Lake. Passing on the way Huari Village, Salinas de Garcia Mendoza, famous
village for the high production of Quinua plantations, we arrive to Jirira
3700 msnm village at the foot of Tunupa Volcano and near the shores of
Salt Flat of Uyuni. Night basic lodge. |

| Day 3 :: Jirira/ Tunupa Volcano/ Mummys/ Fish Island | |
Departure
from Jirira village a journey throught the inmense alien Salt Flat of
Uyuni. In the banks of Salt we will visit lake inhabited by a great number
of flamingoes, llamas, vicuñas, after pick up by 4x4 WD to Coquesa
village, Tunupa Volcano observatory where we will visit andean mummys.
After we start the trakking to the Tunupa Volcano Summit (ascent in 5
hrs) wonderful view of Salt Flat of Uyuni, Salt Flat of Coipasa and the
South Lipez region, go down by the same way to Fish Island one and two,
we will cross the Salt Flat of Uyuni 80 km, where we will visit 2 Islands
(Fish Island - Lomo Pescado; Fish Island - Incahuasi) where we have trekking
and lunch, llama barbecue, where we will see the giant cactus. After lunch
we will continue until colchani village located beside the Sal Flat, where
visit the Salt Factories. Arrive to Uyuni, Hotel. |

| Day 4 :: Uyuni/ Atocha/ Tupiza | |
We
departure in 4x4WD 8 hrs from Uyuni passing on the way local communities,
Atocha mine, before arrive to Tupiza city, we will see spectacular variety
colors landscape. Arrive to Tupiza. Hotel. |

| Day 5 :: Tupiza/ San Vicente | |
Around
Tupiza city we will visit different places, we will go to know by 4x4
WD the fantastic areas around Tupiza: the valley of the machos, Sillar,
and others. After we will continue our visit to San Vicente region where
is Hucawañusca the place when Bolivia reach the independence and
the mining acquired great economic importance was when those two famous
North American cattlethieves arrived to Bolivia. In the mining of San
Vicente, fugitives of then count justice, after the last train assault
they were killed. The rest of these Cattle Thieves are in a small cemetery.

| Day 6 :: Tupiza/ Potosí | |
Departure
to Cotagaita, situated in a Valley produces fruit, maiz. After lunch we
continues to Potosí City. Arrive, hotel. |

| Day 7 :: Potosí/Cooperative Mines/ Casa de la Moneda Museum | |
Cooperative Mines in Potosí The Mine.- You will visit the private , cooperative mines of Unificada Cooperative Company, Rosario, Candealria, Pailaviri and Santa Elena intercommunicated mines. To visit the private cooperative mines is an unique and unforgetable experience that should not be missed. Work System .- You will be able appreciate: The sacrificed work of today's miners. Explotation work of the silver began in the colonial period and is mantained today using the same working tools. You will also observe the galleries, putties and cupulas made of stone, over 454 years ago.
